  • American Association for Clinical Chemistry - "AACC is an international society comprised of medical professionals with an interest in clinical chemistry, clinical laboratory science, and laboratory medicine. Founded in 1948, the society has over 9,000 members and is headquartered in Washington, DC."
  • American Chemical Society - "A nonprofit organization, chartered by Congress, ACS is at the forefront of the evolving worldwide chemical enterprise and the premier professional home for chemists, chemical engineers and related professions around the globe."
  • American Society for Cell Biology - "Its objectives are achieved through the scholarly dissemination of research at its Annual Meeting and Summer Meetings and in its publications. The ASCB strives to ensure the future of basic scientific research by providing training and development opportunities for students and young investigators, and also by keeping Congress and the American public informed about the importance of biological research."
  • American Society for Microbiology - "ASM offers a variety of Professional Development opportunities for those new to the field, as well as seasoned members of the microbiology community. In addition to the annual meetings, ASM offers pre-meeting workshops, teleconferences, webinars and other on-line professional development activities. Other options include certification programs that are valuable components in professional advancement and liscensure."
  • British Society for Cell Biology - The Society organizes and supports meetings and conferences relevant to cell biology and plays an increasing role in raising awareness of science policy issues in the UK.
  • Federation of European Societies of Plant Biology - "The aims of FESPB are to advance research, education, and the exchange of information amongst plant biologists within Europe and beyond, and to support the publication of the results of research through its six affiliated international journals: Journal of Experimental Botany, Journal of Plant Physiology, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Physiologia Plantarum, Plant Biology and Functional Plant Biology." They also produce a regular newsletter.
  • Medline via (FirstSearch) - Medline covers all areas of medicine, including dentistry and nursing. It indexes over 18 million articles from over 19,000 sources. The titles covered range from 1950-Present.
  • Society for Conservation Biology - "The Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) is an international professional organization dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity."
  • Society for Experimental Biology - "Membership to the Society provides academics, researchers, early career scientists, students and teachers with access to an international community of experimental biologists."
  • Society for General Microbiology - "The SGM provides a common meeting ground for scientists working in research and in fields with applications in microbiology, including medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmaceuticals, numerous industries, agriculture, food, the environment and education. The majority of members are employees of universities, research institutes, health services, government agencies and small to multinational companies." Members: 5,000+, 75% UK, 25% (60+ Countries)
  • Society for Industrial Microbiology - " Founded in 1949, SIM promotes the exchange of scientific information through its meetings and publications, and serves as liaison among the specialized fields of microbiology. Membership in the Society is extended to all scientists and companies in the general field of microbiology."
  • World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists - WATOC was created "in order to encourage the development and application of theoretical methods generally. The most conspicuous activities have been the WATOC World Congresses (the 8th was held in Sydney Australia in 2008), but WATOC has sponsored or co-sponsored numerous smaller conferences on more specialized topics, and serves to facilitate contacts and to disseminate information."
