OSU Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

The premier research being conducted at Oklahoma State University was showcased September 20th and 21st at the 9th annual BMBGSA Research Symposium. Forty nine participants from eleven different departments competed in the oral and poster presentations. Ecology, Biofuels Research, Cell Biology, and Protein Structure were among the topics represented. Students with the winning presentations were awarded cash prizes totaling $3000. Dr. Patrick Abbot, an associate professor at Vanderbilt University delivered the keynote address titled "Optimism, Suspicion and History Lessons in the Age of 'Omics.'" The Symposium was organized and sponsored by graduate students in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department to promote life sciences research at OSU.
